History and Meaning
Día del Niño (or Kids’ Day) is celebrated throughout Latin America and the around world as a day in which we honor the contributions of children and youth to our communities. Started in 2010 by members of our Consejo Hispano, Friends of Patterson Park's Día del Niño Celebration is an annual outdoor event that has become a community staple.
Bringing over 2,000 people to the park, all activities, performances, and food are free and nothing is bought or sold during the event so that families can enjoy all it has to offer without having to think about the price!
