Summer Scholars

The goal of the Summer Scholars program is to expose bilingual high school students to the healthcare field by offering meaningful opportunities to work with JHU School of Medicine faculty in clinical settings that serve Latino patients with limited-English proficiency.

Eligibility:

  1. Students must be enrolled in a public high school in Baltimore
  2. Students must be between 14-17 years of age
  3. Students must be fluent in Spanish and English (this will be assessed through written essays in the application process and in the interview)

Program Details:

  • Duration: 5 weeks
  • Dates: July-August
  • Stipend: up to $1500 + lunch vouchers and MTA bus passes

Applications will open again in January of 2019.
